Invoice Considerations for Staffing Agencies
When invoicing clients in the staffing industry, you must ensure all of the information on the invoice is correct. This includes:
- Your company information
- Your client’s company information
- The invoice number
- The invoice date (also referred to as the “date of issue”)
- The due date
- The invoice payment terms
- The invoice line items
- The invoice total
A staffing agency invoice template makes the invoicing process much easier, but you still want to customize each invoice you send out to each customer. If you are using an invoice factoring company to fund your payroll, you will likely need to modify the template to include a remit-to address so that payments are sent to the factoring company, rather than directly to you.
Additionally, when setting up your invoicing process, you will need to decide how you include overtime hours on the invoice. You have two options: you can include it on the same line as the normal hours billed or you can include it as a separate line item. A lot of clients like to see it as a separate line item because the overtime rate is more expensive, and this gives them a better view of what they are paying for.
